We certainly have been busy at work lately. It’s about time things picked up. With the economy as bad as it has been our slow season has gone from 2 months up to 4 or 5 months now. It was really scary going there for a little while. The last few days we have been slamming really good now. I come home exhausted, but that’s a good thing.
My friend Krysta posted a link to a new white pages on the internet. It’s called Spokeo. I have found for the most part, the information is wrong, but some people they had gotten correct. This takes white pages to a completely new level. It not only lists name, address and phone number, but a ton of other information as well. The address it has for me is over 10 years old. That’s ok with me though.
Right now I am reading book 4 in the Scumble River mystery series by Denise Swanson. The books are pretty good. Some of the plot devices that she uses are a little overused, but that’s ok. They are still a good read. I can usually finish the books in a day. However, I have been so tired after work, that I haven’t been reading as much as I normally do. This one is taking me 3 days. I am almost at the end so I will definitely finish it tonight.
As far as health goes, I had lost 10 pounds when we were going head strong on the diet thing at work. In fact, I had lost the most out of everyone. The next thing I knew, everyone stopped doing the diet way before we were supposed to end. It was nice having the motivation to keep going. Now I am back to eating crap just like everyone else in the office. I think part of it is because we have been so busy that everyone is just snacking as the day goes by to ease some of the stress. Its just human nature to do that. I do want to lose a few more pounds before going back to the doctor. I think my weight may have gone down a little bit, but right now I am having some of my swelling going on. I hate when that happens. My face, hands, and feet swell from the Hashis. Sometimes its even difficult to hold a pen. As if my handwriting wasn’t bad enough, with my hands swollen its 100 times worse. I am going to see if there is something natural that I can take to help reduce the swelling. Most of what my doctor has me on to help with the side effects of the Hashis is mega doses of vitamins. I am on the highest dose of vitamin D that a person can take (50,000 iu). I am also on mega doses of niacin as well. So I am sure that there has to be something that is good at reducing the inflammation.
Well I have to finish getting ready for work.
Ok. So I am not a happy camper right now. Yesterday, the boss went around and gave everyone a bag of popcorn and a plastic bin for popcorn. The little bin/box thing was really cute. It looked like an old time popcorn box that you would get at the movie theater or carnival ages ago, except instead of being cardboard or paper, it was plastic. Well, in fact, she hadn’t given one to everyone. She gave one to everyone but me.
I had been talking to CS who also thought it wasn’t fair that I keep getting left out. Someone overheard us talking and went to the boss. I got called into her office and was yelled at. She completely humiliated me. She kept yelling at me about how I was complaining about not getting any and that she only got it for a few people. In fact, that wasn’t true but I wasn’t going to point that out since she was already yelling at me (with her office door open and people standing around outside).
I wanted to crawl underneath a rock. I am constantly made to feel like I am worthless there.
They had decided to do Secret Santa. Apparently, they decided to do this last week and supposedly everyone knew about it then. CS told me that she wasn’t told until this morning. I wasn’t told until someone came and asked me why I wasn’t going in on it. I told them I didn’t know about it. Next thing I know, the boss comes up to me asking me why I wasn’t going in on it. I told her the same thing. Since YL said she told me last week, they believed her. She did not tell me last week. If that were really the case, then when VV asked me last night if we were doing anything like that in the office, I would have told her. Instead, I told her that there weren’t any plans for it. In fact, they didn’t ask the MR tech until after we pulled names if she wanted to participate.
I am constantly made to feel like an outsider there.
I just really needed to get that off my chest. It was really bothering me today at work.
Today wasn’t too bad. We could have gotten out at a great time, but MRI was pretty far behind. She didn’t take the 6:20pm patient back until 7:15pm. So that didn’t let us leave until shortly after 8pm.
The patients were all rather nice today. Usually we get at least a few crabby ones. Not today though. I am so glad, I was really not in the mood to deal with anything.
Dr. H had made a point of coming up to the front desk to ask how I was feeling. He had read my CT from the other day. I told him that I was still hurting and feeling crappy. I made a point of eating soup yesterday to help ease up on my intestines. I figured that if I ate soup, it would be easier to digest.
Time to head home. I can’t wait! I got the invite to beta Pirates of the Burning Sea finally. Now I have to patch it. I had played a bit during the server load test. However, I really couldn’t stay connected because of the lag. Hopefully, it will be better now since it is open beta. I just wished I could have gotten in on the closed beta. Oh well! There are still more games out there to apply for.
It’s almost time for me to go to work. I am really not looking forward to going. Thankfully, this week has been really slow. Hopefully, today won’t be any different. I just can’t wait for the weekend. I am feeling crappy still and I just want to chill at home.
I ended up going to the doctor yesterday. He sent me to have a stat CT of the abdomen and pelvis. He thought that it might be appendicitis. Thankfully, it wasn’t!! It looks like I just have some sort of stomach virus that is affecting me worse because of my IBS.
Well, I was sent home from work early today. I have been having pain in the right upper quadrant of my abdomen (that is on the right side right under the rib cage). I was worried it might be my gall bladder. I go to see my doctor tomorrow. However, its a good thing I work in a diagnostic center. They went ahead and did an ultrasound and KUB on me today. I went back and talked to the radiologist as he read the exam. He said that both exams were normal. So hopefully, we will find out what is going on tomorrow.
I finally remembered to bring my camera to work today. So for those of you who remember the story of the lady who sees invisible cars, here are two photos of the picture.
This first one was taken with the flash on.
This second one was taken with the flash off. Unfortunately, you can still see reflections since the overhead lighting there is really powerful. In fact, you can see the reflections of the overhead lights.
Here are the pictures. As you can see, there aren’t any cars.
This week at work has been extremely weird. Thankfully today was really slow at work. We actually got to leave a little early. It was really nice.
I forgot to bring my camera to work today. I wanted to take that picture. I will try to remember to bring it tomorrow.
I don’t have internet access at the moment, so I am using Windows Live Writer to type my blogs and save as drafts. Once the internet comes back up, I will publish. I hope it comes back up soon. This is driving me crazy!
Yesterday at work was extremely insane. It just seemed like all the patients had smoked some wacky weed or something before coming into our center.
I gave one lady the sign in sheet and asked her to sign in and sit down. She decided to take the sign in sheet to sit down with her. So when the next person went to go sign in, we had to search for the sheet. She said she thought it was papers for her to fill out. She had been sitting there for ten minutes staring at the paper trying to figure out what she needed to do. How hard is it to see what to do on a sign in sheet? Most medical facilities have something like this. Wow!
DP had brought a Christmas dog to work. Its this animated dog on a sleigh that when you squeeze its ear, it barks out Christmas carols. It was cute the first few times. However, every time we turned around, DP was squeezing its ear. It really got annoying after awhile.
I was working at the front desk yesterday. There are two windows that open up for patients to be registered at. I was working one and CS was working the other. Right behind us there is a painting on the wall. It is of a cottage. It looks like a Thomas Kincade, but I couldn’t find it on his site. So I am not sure if it was really done by him. Anyway, CS was registering a patient when the patient started talking about the painting. At first it was the normal, “Oh that is so pretty! It looks so calm and relaxing.” Then all of a sudden the woman says “By the looks of that car there I would say it is the 1930s.” Thank goodness the woman couldn’t see my face. There is no car in the painting at all. I had to get up and walk away before I bust out in laughter. Later on, I was staring at the painting and CS asked what I was doing. I told her that I was waiting for the car to drive back up.
I had another guy come up and say that he had back xrays and foot xrays done the previous month, but the doctor only got the back results. So I looked up his reports and found that he only had a back xray done. He argued that his doctor had ordered both and it was on the same prescription. So I went into the computer and pulled up a copy of the prescription. I printed it out so he could see that they only had ordered the back xray. He kept insisting that he had a foot xray done. I went back to the tech station to see what images we had on file for the patient. There were only back xrays. I went up front and told the patient that. Then I asked him how many films were done and how did they position him. He explained it to me. What he described was a back xray. When I pointed out that he didn’t have his foot anywhere near the xray machine, he said that he thought it was all done all together.
I know that there was more that happened, but I can’t think of what off the top of my head. I will try to take a picture of the painting at work today.
Well, last month was my birthday and two others from work as well. We were all skipped over for celebrating. I had blogged about it back then. I know I shouldn’t be upset over something so trivial, but still it hurts.
Anyway, tomorrow is another girls birthday. She is one of the in crowd. Guess who’s birthday they celebrated today! Yep! Thats right. They came around asking for money to get her a cake. I refused. I am sorry, but if you aren’t going to do it for everyone, then you shouldn’t do it for anyone.
Last month I had even said to a few coworkers that I bet they would celebrate VG’s birthday. I should have bet money. I would have won.
Oh well! I don’t have to go back to work until Monday. I am not going to worry about it.
Well, they changed my position at work yet again. I was told today that I am now the lead closer and will be working at the front desk. In a way I am glad, that way I know that everything is done for closing. I hate being in the back and not being able to start on my closing. Its so nice to get done early. We are already done with the closing. We are just waiting on MRI to finish with their last patient. Then we get to leave.
Its just frustrating having our positions changed every few weeks or so. I guess it keeps us on our toes.
