Before receiving the request for this book tour, I had not heard of Laurel Dewey. So I decided that even though this was the third book in the series, I would give it a go. I am so glad that I did.
Laurel has created characters like no other. Detective Jane was going through her own personal hell after she learned that she may have cancer. Now she is thrust into trying to deal with a kidnapping of a suicidal teen. Was he really kidnapped or is this just a ploy to get money out of his influential parents?
There are those who believe that a local who had spent time in prison for murdering a child 41 years ago is the one who kidnapped Jacob, but Jane isn’t so sure.
I really liked how you were given glimpses into not only Jane’s mind, but into others as well.
There were enough twists and turns in this plot to keep me guessing and intrigued. It is a rather long read, but you won’t want to put it down.
If you like to hunker down with a great mystery book, then you won’t want to miss this one! I already ordered the first 2 from Amazon as soon as I started reading this one. I knew just from the first few chapters that I wouldn’t want to miss out on them.
In conjunction with the Wakela’s World Disclosure Statement, I received a product in order to enable my review. No other compensation has been received. My statements are an honest account of my experience with the brand. The opinions stated here are mine alone.
