So today I started working out again. It has been ages since I got up off my butt and actively worked out.
In either late November or early December, I had completely tore through one muscle in my leg and partially tore another. At first, I wasn’t able to walk on it at all. It took some time before I could start walking on it again.
Since then, I have been completely babying my leg even though the doctor said that I could exercise it without worries.
Well, I finally got up and exercised. My leg is sore now. Mainly because the muscles have been so underused in the last few months. It will take some time, but I need to get some of the weight off.
I have set a goal of losing 40 pounds before I hit 40 this year. That only gives me a few months to really work at it. I know it can be done. In fact, if I really pushed myself, I could lose more then that. I just don’t want to push myself too hard without having a trainer or something like that.
Plus, unfortunately, my family is not the best support system to have. Both my sister and brother-in-law are diabetics who work in the medical field, but don’t take care of their diabetes at all. They eat whatever they want, whenever with no care for how much it will spike their sugar.
So I am having to do this entirely solo. But I took the first step today and that is the most important. I just have to take it one day at a time and keep pushing myself to stay on track.
