One of my guilty pleasures is watching Extreme Makeover: Home Edition with Ty Pennington. Tonight’s episode really struck a chord with me. This episode originally aired in January, but I had missed it then. They re-ran it tonight.
The Brown family suffered a loss so great that truly did not need to happen. Their eldest daughter was texting while driving and lost control of her vehicle. She also was not wearing her seat belt. When she lost control, the truck flipped several times. She was thrown from the car. Her mom is the one that found her laying there a few yards from her truck, dying.
They air lifted her to the hospital, but was told that there wasn’t anything they could do.
Such a senseless loss of life. However, the family has now gone on a mission, Remember Alex Brown. They want everyone to know the true dangers of texting and driving.
This is something that I have always been against. So I decided to make sure that people know more about their cause.
They have set up a website with great information on it. Make sure that you head over there and take the pledge. The life you save by not texting and driving is worth it!
