This cookbook contains "divalicious" recipes created with ingredients that cost one dollar or less. Author Elizabeth Fisher is a regular mom who is a wiz at creating exquisite menus and dining experiences at economical prices. Each recipe is accompanied by an interesting story about how that recipe came to be created. Most ingredients can be found at your local dollar store or in the dollar section in your local supermarket. This is the first book in the Dollar Diva series.
If you are looking for a cookbook with personality, then this is the one for you. I loved Elizabeth Fisher’s stories spaced throughout the book.
The recipes were very easy to make. They all used ingredients that you more then likely already have in your pantry. If they aren’t in your pantry, you can likely catch them for real cheap on sale or using coupons.
I know one of the things that happened to us was that we got stuck in a food rut. Since money has been tight, we seem to eat almost the same things week in and week out. Thankfully, this book helped to get us out of the rut. Now I am thinking outside the box and experimenting as well.
And you want to know what makes this book even better? You can get it for $1 at your local Dollar Tree. How many books can you say you bought brand new for $1 that were digital?
Tonight, I am making the recipe for Juliet’s Chicken. One thing that is great about it is that it says whichever oil you choose. Just by changing the oil around, you get entirely different flavors. Plus you can add spices to it to give it your own unique flair.
