Day 19: Something you miss
Now this specifically says something. Now if it said someone, I could easily list people that I miss. There are quite a few of them. However, this doesn’t ask someone, it asks something. So I need to give this a little thought.
First of all, I miss the house I grew up in. After my mom passed away, we had to sell it in order to pay off the reverse mortgage she had on it. We learned the hard way, that even though reverse mortgages sound good, they are in fact evil. By the time we paid off the reverse mortgage, the four of us only ended up with about $1000 each. It wasn’t much.
So here it was, my parents had planned on at least leaving us something because of the house, but then my mom needed to get a reverse mortgage and we lost everything. We didn’t even have the option to try to keep the house because the reverse mortgage has to be paid within one month of the death of the mortgage holder.
There were tons of great memories in that house. I remember when I was little that my Aunt Helen, Uncle Jack and their 7 boys used to come down to visit us. The house was crowded during those times, but I absolutely loved it.
The picture above is me as a little girl with my cousin Bill. He is 2 years older then me.
What do you miss?
