One of the worst things that could have happened is that I found out about challenges. I love to read and I love “quests” or “missions”. To me, these challenges are very much like “quests” in MMOs that I play. So here is a list of some of the challenges that I am going to attempt for 2011. I know that its probably more then I should start out with, but it seems like fun!!
For this challenge, I am supposed to read books that were published before 2009. This should be an easy one since I am attempting to read all of Fern Michael’s old books.
The 2011 Fantasy Reading Challenge has several levels of participation. Since I haven’t been reading as much fantasy as I used to, I am only going to attempt the Fascinated level (6 books). I will probably end up with much more though. I just don’t want to end up short at the end of the year.
The Read 52 Books in 52 Weeks Challenge is just what it sounds like. You are challenged to read a book a week for a year. It can be any book you would like. However, one fun thing about this challenge is that there are mini-challenges that you can join in on.
For this challenge, I am only going to try for the snoop level to start off with. I love reading the Cozy Mysteries (Denise Swanson, Joanne Fluke, Madelyn Alt, Elaine Viets, etc.). But I want to make sure that it is an attainable goal.
Can we say yum? I love to read books about men wearing KILTS! I have a whole bunch just waiting to be read too. So here’s to a great year with some sexy men in kilts.
